English poetry, prose, and drama of the Restoration and the eighteenth century, with an emphasis on satire and other forms of moral and social commentary. Texts chosen from the works of writers such as Congreve, Dryden, Behn, Addison, Swift, Pope, Goldsmith, Johnson, Wollstonecraft, Burney, and others.
