Performing Arts - Arts Administration, B.A.

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Academic Organization, Faculty Listing

The concentration in Arts Administration combines studies in business and the arts with an emphasis in music, theatre, or an individualized option. Students are challenged to develop independent thinking as they engage the increasingly interdisciplinary world of the arts and art-producing organizations.

Over the course of study, students learn the basics of the field, but also develop expertise in their particular areas of interest whether it be running their own small performing arts space or writing grants for a large arts organization. As a result, our program is largely customizable, a strength given our small size, designed to combine student interest with opportunities after graduation. Project 3 is the capstone, where seniors culminate their time at UMF and also graduate with an experience/work that launches them into a career.
