ART 122 - Design Thinking This course introduces students to Design Thinking, a human-centered, creative problem-solving methodology used across industries to address complex challenges. Students will learn the foundational principles of empathy, ideation, prototyping, and iteration as tools for developing innovative solutions to real-world problems. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on workshops, and collaborative projects, students will explore how design thinking can be applied to a wide range of fields, from product design to social innovation to studio art. No prior design experience is necessary. By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of how to approach problem-solving with creativity and empathy and will develop a portfolio of work showcasing their process.
