POS 241 - Comparative Social Policy This course examines how different countries address social issues such as healthcare, housing, labor, and social welfare through public policy. Students will explore various welfare state models, comparing policy approaches in different world regions with the United States, and analyzing their relative effectiveness in promoting social equity and well-being. The course will also consider the political, economic, and cultural factors that shape social policy decisions, as well as the role of international organizations in influencing national policies. Through case studies and comparative analysis, students will gain insights into the challenges of designing and implementing effective social policies in diverse contexts. Course Typically Offered: Every semester.
