POS 305 - Public Budgeting, Finance and Taxation


This course examines the process of managing an organization’s money, including how to plan, spend, raise funds, and handle debt. This includes purposes, terminology, methods, and processes as well as the context they occur in. The class will utilize technical practices and evaluate their pros and cons. They will consider the opportunities and challenges encountered by different types of government and non-profit organizations and how to navigate them successfully.  Subject matter experts will address different timely topics based on availability. Students will apply their cumulative knowledge and abilities to develop and present a budget. Course Typically Offered: Every 3 semesters.
