BIO 101 - Introduction to Cannabis Cultivation This introductory course provides a comprehensive overview of the principles and practices of cannabis cultivation. Students will explore the plant’s biology, growth cycles, and environmental requirements, gaining a foundational understanding of both indoor and outdoor cultivation techniques. Topics covered include cannabis botany and physiology, environmental controls, soil and nutrient management, propagation techniques, pest and disease management, harvesting and processing, legal and ethical consideration and basic grow setup design. This course is designed for students with no prior experience in cannabis cultivation. Through lectures, hands-on activities (where legally permissible), and discussions, students will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to cultivate cannabis responsibly and effectively. Please note: This course focuses on the horticultural aspects of cannabis cultivation. Students are responsible for complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws. Course Typically Offered: Every Summer.
