ANT 240S - Cultural Ecology

This course centers on the relationship between society and the environment, specifically focusing on literature from the growing field of political ecology. We will explore various environmental conflicts and management issues by careful consideration of particularities of place, culture and history. Using an anthropological perspective, nuances of local level details are set in relation to the broader political economy to explore not only environmental problems, but also potential solutions.
