The Pre-Professional Health minor is for non-science majors at UMF who are interested in attending medical schools, veterinary schools, pharmacy schools, dental schools, optometry schools, physician assistant programs, physical therapy schools, chiropractic schools or similar post-graduate programs in health related fields. The minor ensures that these students take the biology, chemistry, and physics they need to maximize their chances for a successful application.

- PHY 141 - General Physics I Credits: 4
- PHY 142 - General Physics II Credits: 4
A minimum of one third of the required credits must be earned at UMF for a minor to be awarded.
The exact number of credits in each discipline will depend on the professional school.
Only C- or better grades in the above courses will count toward the minor.
Learning Goals:
Students will acquire scientific knowledge in biology, chemistry and physics necessary for admission to professional health careers. Assessment Criteria:
Most professional schools have an entrance examination that could be used as an assessment tool. |
