HEA 120 - Emergency Medical Response/Principles and Practices This course focuses on the ability to recognize the need for an early response to medical emergencies and the application of secondary preventive skills during a critical time while awaiting the arrival of professional assistance. Content covers the assessment of the vital signs of a victim and the ability to identify medical emergencies including chest, pelvic, abdominal, and musculoskeletal injuries in adults and children that merit the use of CPR, bleeding and wound management, bandaging, splinting, and personal protective equipment. Based on grades and successful completion of this course, the student may earn First Aid and CPR certification. Course Typically Offered: Every fall.
