PSY 355 - Technology-Assisted Psychotherapy


Technology is ubiquitous, thus bears potential to improve mental health care accessibility. This course surveys technology-assisted psychotherapy, from cutting-edge research to in-clinic care, and how it can optimize therapeutic learning while making evidence-based care more accessible and affordable. With a special focus on virtual reality, the course spans psychiatric conditions such as ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, eating disorders, substance dependence disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. Students will also design and pitch creative, practical technological solutions to meet local mental health needs. Course Typically Offered: Every Fall.

Prerequisite(s): PSY 101 General Psychology .
