HTY 268 - History of Christianity


This course is a broad study of Christianity from its inception during Roman times until our own. Spending about half the semester on each of the two millennia, students will look at Christianity’s main developments and its spread from the eastern Mediterranean into western and eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Central themes will include the evolution of Christian practice and belief in response to the contact with new cultures and an exploration of the ways in which Christianity impacted the social and political landscapes it entered. GLOBAL CONCENTRATION
