ARH 274A - Modern Art

This course examines modernism and modern art in Europe and the United States from the mid-19th century to World War II. We will look at the rise of the avant-garde (cubism, dada, surrealism, etc.) and the dynamic new conversation among art, its public, its critics, and its theorists. Writing-intensive.
