MUS 101A - Fundamentals of Music

Presuming no previous musical knowledge, this course is an introduction to reading and writing music. Students will analyze examples from a wide range of cultural traditions and historical periods as they learn the basics of music theory, engage in meaningful discourse about music, and write their own musical compositions.
