PSY 425 - Sex Therapy This course introduces students to the principles and practices of sex therapy. The class will be conducted as a discussion-based seminar and students will be responsible for presenting and discussing readings. Topics will include the treatment of several disorders: sexual arousal disorder, sexual pain, orgasmic disorders, erectile disorder, premature ejaculation, and delayed ejaculation, as well as paraphilias and sexual addiction. The history of the field of sex therapy and societal and cultural influences on sexuality and sexual disorders will also be discussed. Course Typically Offered: Every 3 years.
Prerequisite(s): PSY 209 , PSY 235 , and an advanced counseling course (PSY 349 or PSY 435 ) or permission of the instructor.
